Workshops

After years of talking with folks at farmer's markets it has become clear that there is an interest not only in buying our cheeses but in learning about how they are made. With that in mind we are working on putting together workshops to be held in our cheeseroom that will demonstrate the basics of cheesemaking. These workshops will leave participants with a basic knowledge of cheesemaking that they can take home to their kitchen and start producing wholesome homemade dairy products for their families.

Please feel free to contact us with your suggestions or questions about upcoming workshops.

Interns

The 2010 summer season live-in internship has been filled but we are willing to work with one or two additional interns who live locally and can commit to a regular schedule at the farm. We are taking applications for a live-in intern for the winter season which runs from November through March

Internship is available for those who live in this area or will be in the area with their own living accomodations. We do have housing for live in interns who are willing to make at least a two month commitment. We are willing to take on interns who are eager to learn, are physically strong, don't mind getting dirty, and have a genuine love of/interest in goat husbandry and/or cheesemaking and marketing. We do ask that you are able to commit to several months of working together so that we both can benefit from the time and energy put into our relationship. If you think you would like to help out and learn on Acorn Hill Farm please email us via our contact page and let us know why you are interested and when you would be available.
