         Chevre Logs

          
A classic french style semi-soft goat cheese. Mild flavored but with a bit of tang this is a wonderfully creamy cheese. Try this cheese just plain or coated in complimentary organic herbs and spices. Serve with crackers, crusty bread, and dried or fresh fruit for a wonderful noshing platter. Also crumbles when cold for salads or add to eggs for great added flavor. Can't decide? Although in France fromage blanc is typically made with cow's milk and then sweetened, Acorn Hill fromage blanc is a savory goat milk cheese packaged in tubs that is then either lightly salted or combined with fresh herbs and seasonings. After all goat milk cheese really is a "white cheese". Use as a spread or in cooking.

The freshest cheese that we offer is our ricotta. Made last each week to assure freshness this delicate and sweet acid precipitation cheese is wonderful on it's own or with a drizzle of honey or maple syrup. Add fresh fruit or spread it on toast. Bake a cheesecake or use it in your Italian favorites like lasagna, stuffed shells or home made ravioli.

Raw Milk cheeses are the at the heart of Acorn Hill Farm. We make them in small batches and age most for at least six months allowing them to develop a deep flavor and considerable sharpness. Our ageing space is limited and we hope to put in a larger space for ageing cheese in the future so until then these cheeses are not available at all times.
